It was definitely a busy week at IHM coming into this first weekend of Lent. And I am personally excited at this spur of activity and of course the shifting of gears as we slowly embrace the numerous opportunities for grace, for spiritual growth and renewed conversion.
First some news:
FAMILY STATIONS OF THE CROSS
-this Friday, March 8 and again on Friday, April 12, I invite & encourage the catechists to pray this special Lenten Devotion at 7 PM inside the IHM Church. The Confirmation students, Level 7 & 8 classes and their families are specifically assigned to participate and read on these dates.
FRIDAY LENTEN DINNERS
-from 4:30 to 7 PM each Friday, this community gathering needs your prayerful support if you cannot help serve the meals or attend the dinner.
-thanks for all your work with your classes and we are definitely seeing the fruits of years of practice and service.
Level 3 is scheduled to sponsor the April 7 (11:15 AM) Mass.
We will need volunteer STUDENT readers at the last CFF Mass: Sunday May 5.
We need ADULT volunteers for the May Crowning procession on May 5 and the ensuing Cinco de Mayo CFF Fellowship in the Hall after that Mass, which also happens to be First Holy Communion. Note that the Confirmation Mass is June 1, Saturday at 4 PM.
Sunday Level 3 & 4 classes will be testing at the last Sunday of March (March 31st)
Monday Levels 5 to 8 will be testing on APRIL FOOLS DAY (hah!)
CLASS LENTEN CONFESSIONS
Please consider giving your Level 3 to 8 students the opportunity to approach the sacrament of Confession during class times.
This SUNDAY, March 10 at 2 AM is Spring Forward!
GOD LOVES YOU
And if you've read this far, He is also blessing you in ways unknown to you.
Jesus said, "Amen, I say to you,
there is no one who has given up house or brothers or sisters
or mother or father or children or lands
for my sake and for the sake of the Gospel
who will not receive a hundred times more now in this present age:
1 Corinthians 15:58
Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters,
be firm, steadfast, always fully devoted to the work of the Lord,
knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
